Tag — You’re It!
Posted: March 13th, 2009 | Author: Katie | Filed under: Simple Solutions |One of my new obsessions – Tags.
It all started when I saw some cute and colorful tags at Target and I thought, “I have to use them in my house!” But then I remembered how boring and plain I was.
So I bought white ones instead.
So lets look at all the ways I have used tags:
Tie linens together

Baskets

These are chalkboard tags that I got at my favorite store on the face of the earth, Nell Hills.(Someday soon I will dedicate a whole post to it!)

Closed containers

Gift baskets
Although I love the white classic tag, I recently read about a fabulous idea from the AMAZING, Thrifty Decor Chick. She provided the idea of using paint chips and converting them into tags. After I read her tutorial I went to collect a couple paint chips myself, and got two in each color. So instead of gluing a separate backing on - I just glued the backs together. I also did not use a dicut and just thought I could free hand…
Let’s just say, after a number of attempts, I’m not the best at cutting out a shamrock:

So I settled on a flower shape instead…

And I guess it didn’t turn out too bad. This basket is for my son’s Preschool teachers to celebrate spring. It is stuffed with a piece of tissue paper that I cut a slit into so I could fan the free drink coupons that Sonic so generously donated to us! I then filled the basket with some confetti stuff, tied it with a ribbon and used the paint chips as a tag.
Obviously, I’m a little hooked on tags - but if you would like to see what others are hooked on, head on over to Julia’s Friday Hooked on Houses Party. (And if you are a Brothers and Sisters fan check out her pictures from Nora Walker’s house. I am in love with her kitchen!)

These tags are such a simple clean idea! Now I just want to go to Lowe’s and raid their paint samples!!
I love the chalkboard tags. What a fun idea. I label everything in my home, but find that my kids rip tags off if they’re hanging on a string. I’ve resorted to taping them on!
Cute!
Nice! I’d not thought of using them like that. Simple yet effective.
Very fun idea. But for me, I imagine I would buy them, and then never get around to actually tying them on anything.
Very fun!! Love the tags!
