Tree Buckets

I have OMR. I am an Obsessed Magazine Ripper-outer.

Yes, I am the person who, (when alone) on a plane or as a passenger in a car, does not ear mark but simply rips all and every page that I am interested in. (And yes, I have even ripped a page from the magazine at the doctors office. Although I did it VERY softly.)

I  have many folders for ideas I rip out: haircuts, articles to read in detail, gifts for people, gifts for me, and of course inspirations and projects. I guess I probably also have OFD - Obsessive Folder Disorder.

Looking through my project folder the other day, I spotted numerous copies of the same picture and I it took me some time to remember what I was attracted to but then it hit me — a  bucket.  Although this was not just any bucket…it was a 68 dollar bucket.

My thoughts were to use it for the boys’ Christmas trees in their rooms. How easy right?!!

Headed to Home Depot where I had earlier spotted buckets for $3.00 each. Then to Hobby Lobby for scrap paper (.29¢ ) and used some extra sticky letters and mod podge that I had on hand. Put these all together and here’s what I ended up with:

I went with a neutral paper so I could keep them in their rooms year round to store stuff. But for now, I think the little fake fir tree is happy to have a cute bucket supporting him. Okay, that’s a lie - the little fake fir tree doesn’t even care and either does anyone else in the house probably except me! But I love it and that is all that matters, right?!

Okay, I am really laughing out loud:) I also suffer from both disorders that you wrote about. Mine starts off with being a magazine whore that then leads to the ripping out pages, which leads to the folder. I keep mine in a 3 ring notebook that I refer to often. I am glad that I am not alone in my suffering.

Being one of the recipients of your obsession, I’m ok with it! :). Love the buckets. I’m sure the boys in your house appreciate all of the love you put into your home.

Omg the doctor’s office magazine rip-out!! I’ve done it. And I’ve tried to do it quietly but I know everyone saw exactly what I was doing. Do they care??? I hope not!! I love this tree bucket idea. I hardly pulled any Christmas decor out this year. I think if I was not almost 9 months pregnant this Christmas I would have made so many new decorations from all the good ideas I’ve run across! Oh well…next year! But bummer…I can’t rip this page off the internet. I’ll bookmark it instead! :)

Super cute idea! My boys like anything with their initial on it so that would go over big time here!

very cute - I am always too scared to rip, so I just carry the whole magazine and pretend to forget that it’s in my hand! Who am I fooling?
