Every season I like to change up the decor on my porch, although I tend to stick with the same items each season. So when I was preparing for Susan’s Met Monday and heard about Kari and Kijsa’s Door Party Tuesday, (and the bird droppings that I noticed on my outdoor porch lights) I decided that those were the signs I needed to do a little sprucing up.

For Spring I usually have a pot filled with flowers:

But the adorable flying bunny from Pier One found a new home in the roses. Thanks again Rhonda!

My chair usually has one pillow,

But I thought, since I had an extra pillow, it could use a friend.

I added some extra faux easter eggs and spanish moss to my pots and the top of my wire frames.

In the front planters, I added extra pieces of greenery and spray painted plastic eggs.

{But really, it was my wreath that needed the most attention}

It is pretty plain. But I didn’t want to spend any money and honestly, I was too lazy to go anywhere to buy anything.

What to do?

I started by taking some extra greenery (from my other seasons of porch decor, of course!) and just plucked off some of the leaves of a strand of garland and made a little flower. Then I cut off the pieces of a greenery bunch and added a little spray to the wreath. I didn’t even hot glue the pieces on, incase I want to change again next year!

My little makeover is complete. Now I adore my new porch and its spruced up friends!

Spa Retreat Inspirations

If there is one place in the world that relaxes and rejuvinates me the most– it would be Palm Springs, California. Every year my family goes on our annual Spring Break trip to Palm Springs and last week was that heavenly time. Within the fun filled week, my absolute favorite experience is when my mom and I take our day to the spa.

The Spa at The Desert Springs Marriott

The experience takes over your senses from the moment you walk through the front doors. First the fresh and clean smell engulfs your whole body, then you hear the sound of running water and soft music, the feel of the soft robes and slippers that you are handed, and then finally you are seated and enjoying this view:

I am at peace every time.

I would have more pictures - but this being the most peaceful place - I really didn’t think it would be appropriate for me to be snapping pictures. I had to even sneak this one in with my phone - pretending that I was turning it off!
There were two other things on the trip that I really fell in love with, and although they would not work for my current home, I can always dream…

A Hammock

Maybe it was how it rested up on the top of the little hill overlooking the lake - but I could imagine myself sitting on it for hours. So peaceful, so beautiful.

I have always been into admiring bathrooms.

It seems like a ritual wherever I go. Pretty funny, but I love a good bathroom. This one was found in the lobby of on of the hotels and I thought it was such a neat idea for a guest bathroom. You would have to buy a lot of washcloths, but I loved the feeling of a fresh cloth on my hands and my 3 year old loved throwing them in the basket. “Score!”
